“A wild and sexy adventure!”

At a high school in 1995, Matt Leland (Chris O'Donnell) falls for Casey Roberts (Drew Barrymore), the new girl, whose fun and eccentric streak carries a darkness he can't read. After a suicide attempt, her parents place her in a mental institution, and Matt gets her out. Antonia Bird follows the two of them onto the road, where Matt believes his love can cure her and starts to wonder whether he's helping.
