Mad Max

“The maximum force of the future.”

In a near-future Australia where society is coming apart, a motorcycle gang led by Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne) terrorizes the roads and laughs at the police sent to stop it. Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) is one of those officers, with a wife, Jessie (Joanne Samuel), at home. George Miller, in his first feature, holds all of it to the grain of the highway: the pursuit cars, the leather jackets, the long empty road ahead.
