Madame Satã
“Hustler, dreamer, devil, saint”
João Francisco dos Santos (Lázaro Ramos) lives in the Rio de Janeiro of the 1930s as a son of slaves, an ex-convict and a thug, and as the adopted father of a household of outcasts. At night he takes the stage of a cabaret as Madame Satã. Karim Aïnouz shot it in the streets of Lapa, and João has to be every one of these people at once.
