Mädchen in Uniform
“What is its strange appeal? Why does it stir the emotions?”
Why does a quiet new girl at a strict boarding school come to hold every eye in the building? Manuela von Meinhardis (Hertha Thiele), sensitive and newly sent away, forms a deep attachment to her teacher Miss von Bernburg (Dorothea Wieck), who treats the girls more gently than the rest of the staff. Leontine Sagan's film follows Manuela through the school's rules, and she has no way to hide what she feels.
