“The easy part is surviving the mob. The hard part is surviving the friendship.”

Bobby (Jon Favreau) and Ricky Slade (Vince Vaughn) are aspiring boxers in Los Angeles who have been friends for as long as either can remember, and they work whatever jobs a crime boss named Max (Peter Falk) hands them. Favreau, directing his first feature, sends them into a money-laundering scheme tied to a small-time mob outfit. Ricky talks loud and fast, Bobby worries quietly beside him, and each of them has a different idea of what the friendship owes the other.
