“Trevor is an angry young man.”

Nothing the authorities do seems to reach Trevor (Tim Roth), a 16-year-old skinhead who steals cars and answers every adult with a torrent of four-letter words and racial abuse. Harry Parker (Eric Richard), his social worker, keeps trying, but Trevor only listens when it gets him a personal gain. Alan Clarke, working from David Leland's script, keeps the camera close and moving, and Roth's debut plays as if nobody had told him it was acting.
