Made in Heaven

“12,000 babies will be born in the United States today. Two will already have fallen in love.”

A drifter named Mike (Timothy Hutton) dies and wakes up in Heaven, where he meets Annie (Kelly McGillis), a newborn soul about to be sent down to Earth for her first life. Mike falls for her fast, and when she goes, he finds a way to go after her, set on finding her again. Alan Rudolph tells it as a quiet fairy tale, with Tom Petty, Ric Ocasek and Neil Young turning up in small parts.
