Madras

Kaali (Karthi) and his friend Anbu (Kalaiyarasan) live in the slums of North Madras, where a single wall draws them into a brutal rivalry between two factions of a political party. Kalaiarasi (Catherine Tresa) moves through the same crowded streets, while the politicians who court these neighborhoods at election time leave their conditions unchanged. Pa. Ranjith sets the film among the people who actually live there and keeps his camera at street level.
