Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story

Joanne Rowling (Poppy Montgomery) is a struggling single mother with a manuscript and no publisher, and the film tracks her back through an awkward adolescence and the death of her mother to where the Harry Potter story began. Paul A. Kaufman draws on Sean Smith's biography and keeps the scenes close to the people around her, her sister Diane (Emily Holmes) and Jorge Arantes (Antonio Cupo). It ends on Joanne at the desk with the Philosopher's Stone pages.
