“Be careful what you wish for.”

Luis (Luis Bermejo) is an out-of-work teacher in Madrid whose twelve-year-old daughter Alicia (Lucía Pollán) is dying, and who loves a Japanese TV show about a magical girl. Her last wish is the show's costume, a collector's piece priced far beyond what he has. The film shows how one small, tender promise can drag several strangers, Bárbara (Bárbara Lennie) and Damián (José Sacristán) among them, into things none of them chose.
