Magnet of Doom

Why would a millionaire like Dieudonné Ferchaux (Charles Vanel) hire a washed-up boxer as his secretary, and why is he so eager to get out of the country? Michel Maudet (Jean-Paul Belmondo) takes the job after his manager drops him, with no idea what Ferchaux is running from. Jean-Pierre Melville sets the two men on the road, and Michel's wages now depend on a fraud case catching up with his employer.
