Karsan Das Mulji (Junaid Khan), a young journalist, publishes an article accusing Jadunathjee Brajratanjee Maharaj (Jaideep Ahlawat), a revered religious leader, of immoral behavior toward the women who come to him. The leader answers with a libel suit, and the case became the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862. Siddharth P. Malhotra builds the story from Saurabh Shah's novel, and the film keeps its eye on Jadunathjee's face as the courtroom fills around him.
