Mahjong

A group of swindlers, hustlers, gangsters and foreign drifters keep brushing against each other in a Taipei that is changing around them. Edward Yang follows the crowd of them, among them Luen-Luen (Lawrence Ko) and Hong Kong (Chang Chen), and a young French girl, Marthe (Virginie Ledoyen), who is far too trusting for the company she lands in. Hong Kong is the one local who wants to look out for her, though he is hardly safe himself.
