Maigret

A girl in an evening dress lies dead in a Paris square, and nobody knows her name. Commissioner Maigret (Gérard Depardieu) takes the case with only the dress to go on, and Patrice Leconte follows him through the slow, ordinary work of finding out who she was. Until he does, she is a stranger who died alone, and no one is looking for her.
