Maigret Sets a Trap

Four women have been knifed in the streets of Paris, their clothes torn but none of them violated, and Commissioner Jules Maigret (Jean Gabin) is handed the file. Jean Delannoy follows him through the dull work of the case, the reports and the questions put to Yvonne Maurin (Annie Girardot) and others, until Maigret decides the only way to reach the man he suspects is to bait him. It is a quiet bet, and Maigret keeps it close, talking to almost no one.
