“Madly in love.”

Malcolm (John David Washington) is a filmmaker who comes home from the premiere of his new film certain the night belongs to him, with Marie (Zendaya) beside him. Sam Levinson shot the two of them in black and white, inside one house, in secret during the summer 2020 lockdowns. As the hours go on, a long relationship gets argued out loud, and what each of them owes the other, in love and in credit, is stated plainly.
