“Protecting witnesses is a challenge. Living with them is impossible.”

A murder has left a prosecutor's case against a drug kingpin resting on a handful of University of Texas cheerleaders who saw it happen. Texas Ranger Roland Sharp (Tommy Lee Jones) is sent to guard them, which means posing as an assistant coach and moving in with the squad. Stephen Herek shot it on the Austin campus and keeps the pace brisk, with Cedric the Entertainer (Percy Stevens) along for the noise.
