Nobody on this Mediterranean beach can say why the Löffler family is still sitting through the last day of their vacation, quietly irritated by everyone around them. Erwin Löffler (Gerhard Polt) and his wife Irmgard (Gisela Schneeberger) drift between daydreams and muttered remarks about the Italians. Hanns Christian Müller leaves the family to the summer haze, the towels and the long, slow afternoon of the holiday's final day.
