Manchester by the Sea

“I can't beat it.”

Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) is a janitor in Boston, keeping to himself, until his brother Joe dies and leaves him guardian of his sixteen-year-old son Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Lee returns to Manchester by the Sea, the coastal town where his past waits like a bruise. He and Patrick must figure out how to live together while Lee decides whether he can stay, or whether leaving again is the only way he knows how to survive.
