“Who killed who?”

Larry Lipton (Woody Allen) is a Manhattan book editor who would rather stay home than go anywhere. His wife Carol (Diane Keaton) is the one who gets curious when their neighbor Paul House (Jerry Adler) shrugs off his wife's sudden death. Woody Allen has the two of them poking into a stranger's life, and every question they ask puts them closer to a man who may have killed once already.
