“You can't escape yourself.”

The adolescent ward of a juvenile mental institution holds a handful of teenagers who have nowhere else to be. Lyle (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) lands there instead of prison, a violent kid sent to share the unit with others who are abused, angry, or unsure of themselves. Jordan Melamed puts him in group sessions with Dr. David Monroe (Don Cheadle), and Lyle has to decide whether these other kids are his last lifeline.
