Map of the Human Heart
“Born in the magic of youth. Forged by the passions of war. Their love knew no boundaries.”
In 1931, a British mapmaker named Walter Russell (Patrick Bergin) picks a twelve-year-old boy from an Arctic village to guide him, and when the boy falls ill with tuberculosis, flies him to a hospital in Montreal. There Avik meets Albertine, a girl in the next bed, and is lost to her. Vincent Ward follows the two across a decade and a war, as a map of the world turns out to be a poor guide to where a person belongs.
