Margot at the Wedding

“One family. Infinite degrees of separation.”

On the eve of a wedding at the family's seaside home, the short story writer Margot (Nicole Kidman) turns up uninvited to see her estranged sister Pauline (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Pauline is marrying Malcolm (Jack Black), an unemployed musician and artist who battles depression, and Margot has opinions about all of it. Noah Baumbach writes them as sisters who still know exactly where to cut each other, even when they mean to help.
