Marriage Story

“Where there's a love, there's a way.”

Charlie Barber (Adam Driver), a stage director in New York, wants the separation from his wife to stay civil and out of the lawyers' hands. Nicole (Scarlett Johansson), an actress, has already hired Nora Fanshaw (Laura Dern), and the move to Los Angeles and the question of who keeps their son begin to pull the two of them apart. Noah Baumbach writes the quarrels so closely that you keep expecting them to remember why they married.
