“They're her family... Whether she likes it or not.”

A mob wife's husband is killed for sleeping with the mistress of Tony "The Tiger" Russo (Dean Stockwell), and no one on Long Island will say why the boss wants his widow next. Angela de Marco (Michelle Pfeiffer) takes her son and leaves for New York City to start over, with an undercover FBI agent (Matthew Modine) and Tony both closing in. Jonathan Demme puts her at the center, a woman in a loud outfit who wants out.
