Martha Marcy May Marlene

“You can get away, but you can never escape.”

Martha (Elizabeth Olsen) walks out of a cult in the Catskill Mountains and phones her estranged sister, Lucy (Sarah Paulson), for help. Sean Durkin sets her down in the quiet Connecticut house Lucy shares with her husband, Ted (Hugh Dancy), where the memories of the commune follow her through every room. Martha cannot say what she carries, and the dread of its leader, Patrick (John Hawkes), keeps her from settling anywhere.
