Martian Child

“Doesn't matter where you come from, as long as you find where you belong!”

David (John Cusack), a science fiction writer still grieving his wife, wants a child to fill the quiet house, and the boy he is considering is six-year-old Dennis (Bobby Coleman), who says he is really from Mars. Dennis has been abandoned and shunned by other children, and he spends his days carrying a cardboard box and shielding himself from the sun. Menno Meyjes lets David hold that box, the boy beside him, in the doorway of the house.
