Marvelous and the Black Hole

Sammy (Miyako), a teenager still reeling from her mother's death, keeps getting into trouble at school and at home, where her father's new girlfriend is already moving into the space her mother left. Then she meets Margot (Rhea Perlman), a surly working magician who agrees to teach her sleight of hand. Kate Tsang follows the two as the tricks give Sammy a way to channel her anger, while her family waits to see whether she can find a way back to them.
