Mary Magdalene

“Her story will be told”

In the first century, in a fishing village on the Galilean shore, Mary Magdalene (Rooney Mara) is expected to accept the marriage her family has arranged. She leaves instead and finds her way to the followers of Jesus (Joaquin Phoenix), a preacher gathering people who have nowhere else to go. Garth Davis follows Mary as she takes her place beside Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and the others, a woman choosing a life that no one around her would have chosen for her.
