Mary Poppins

“The fairest of them all...the funniest of them all!”

Nobody in the Banks house in turn-of-the-century London can say where the new nanny came from, only that Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) turns up and takes charge of two neglected children. Robert Stevenson has Dick Van Dyke play both Bert and the elderly Mr. Dawes Sr., while David Tomlinson's Mr. Banks keeps his distance from his own family. Under painted London skies, built entirely inside the Disney studio in Burbank, live actors walk into animated scenes.
