Mary Queen of Scots

(2018)Directed by Josie Rourke124 min · RDrama, History
“Bow to No One”

Why would a young widow leave the French court for a Scotland she barely knows? In 1561 Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan) comes home to claim her throne, and her blood also gives her a legitimate claim to England's. Josie Rourke sets her against her cousin Queen Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie), with William Cecil (Guy Pearce) and John Knox (David Tennant) circling, and both women stand to lose their crowns.
