“Be warned.”

Victor Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh) is a young medical student whose mother dies giving birth, and the loss hardens into an obsession with bringing the dead back. Branagh stages his experiments in full Gothic excess, with Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth waiting at home and Robert De Niro as the Creature. Victor stitches a body together from the remains of corpses, then finds he has no idea how to live with what he made.
