Why does a household that has always run smoothly start to feel so heavy for the man at its head? Viktor Frandsen (Johannes Meyer) has turned tyrannical toward his wife Ida (Astrid Holm) and the family around her, and the women decide he needs a lesson in gratitude. Carl Theodor Dreyer made this silent 1925 Danish drama, and it stays inside the family's rooms.
