Matilda

“Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world.”

A bookish six-year-old with uncanny abilities arrives at school to find her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), ruling through terror. Matilda (Mara Wilson) has parents who ignore her and a teacher Miss Honey (Embeth Davidtz) who sees her, and she discovers she can move things with her mind. The question is not whether a lonely child can change her world, but whether she should use power to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
