Alain Moreau (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a French police detective, is working in the south of France when he learns that the identical twin brother he never knew he had has been killed. His search for the reason sends him to New York, with Russian mobsters and renegade FBI agents on his trail. Ringo Lam directs the chase, and Alain's only ally is Alex (Natasha Henstridge), the dead man's girlfriend, who looks at him and sees someone else.
