Maya Memsaab

Maya (Deepa Sahi) is a young wife in a 1993 Indian adaptation of Flaubert's Madame Bovary, married to the decent, ordinary Dr. Charu Das (Farooq Shaikh). The life he offers her feels smaller than the one she imagined, and Lalit (Shah Rukh Khan), a younger man, notices her longing. Ketan Mehta follows what her restlessness could cost her, with Rudra (Raj Babbar) and the moneylender Lalaji (Paresh Rawal) waiting at the edges of her marriage.
