“A little friendship never killed anyone.”

Greg Gaines (Thomas Mann) has gotten through senior year by staying out of everyone's way, and he spends his spare hours making goofy, strange films with Earl Jackson (RJ Cyler), the one person he'll call a friend. Then his mother (Connie Britton) makes him spend time with Rachel (Olivia Cooke), a classmate with leukemia. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon follows Greg as he finds that hiding from people has been easier than being useful to one.
