Me and My Gal
In 1932, along a waterfront cafe, the waitress Helen Riley (Joan Bennett) serves customers while her father Pop (J. Farrell MacDonald) and her sister Kate (Marion Burns) are never far away. Danny Dolan (Spencer Tracy), a young policeman on the beat, takes one look at Helen and keeps finding reasons to come in. Raoul Walsh builds the picture on the plain idea that people who talk fast and joke hard are often just trying to say they like each other.
