In New York in 1937, Richard Samuels (Zac Efron), a high school kid, talks his way into a part in Orson Welles' stage production of Julius Caesar. Richard Linklater follows him through the cramped, loud days of the company, where Richard falls for the production assistant Sonja (Claire Danes). The opening night is days off, and Richard has a role, a girl and a famously unpredictable director to hold onto.
