Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), homeschooled in Africa her whole life, walks into an American high school and wants only to fit in. She befriends Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan) and Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), but catches the eye of Regina George (Rachel McAdams), the girl who decides who belongs. As Cady climbs toward Regina's circle, each small choice hollows her out, until she cannot tell the difference between fitting in and losing herself.
