Meet the Applegates

“A new species of comedy”

A colony of insects leaves South America for the United States, aiming to get close to the country's nuclear resources. To do it, they take on the shapes of a cookie-cutter 1950s suburban family: Richard (Ed Begley Jr.), Jane (Stockard Channing), and their children Johnny and Sally. Michael Lehmann films the family's bright, ordered suburb in Wisconsin, and Aunt Bea (Dabney Coleman) sits among the Applegates at the table.
