Meet the Feebles

(1989)Directed by Peter Jackson93 minComedy, Music
“Welcome to the jungle!”

Heidi the Hippo stars in The Feebles Variety Hour, and the night before the big broadcast she learns that her lover Bletch the Walrus has been cheating on her. Backstage, the rest of the troupe are busy with drug addiction, extortion, robbery, disease and murder, with a Vietnam flashback thrown in. Peter Jackson stages it all as a cheerful puppet musical, and the felt animals never stop smiling for the cameras.
