Lewis is an orphan inventor obsessed with building a machine that will help him find his birth mother. When a boy named Wilbur (voice) (Wesley Singerman) appears from the future in a time machine, Lewis enters the Robinson household. By the end of the day, Lewis stands in a sunlit workshop surrounded by blueprints and gears, the light catching on a family he has finally learned to build.
