“You have to lose yourself before you can find yourself.”

Melissa P. (María Valverde) is a teenager in Sicily who wants to be seen, and she goes looking for it the way sixteen-year-olds do, too fast and with the wrong people. At home she lives with her mother and her grandmother Elvira (Geraldine Chaplin), who watch her without understanding what she is chasing. Luca Guadagnino follows her first encounters, and the friend she keeps close, Manuela (Letizia Ciampa), becomes the one person who knows what they cost her.
