Memoir of a Snail

“Life can only be understood backwards, but we have to live it forwards.”

Grace Pudel (Sarah Snook) is a lonely misfit in Australia, and the one person who understood her, her twin brother Gilbert (Kodi Smit-McPhee), is gone. Adam Elliot builds her childhood and adult life in stop-motion clay, the shelves and rooms crowded with the clutter she collects. Orphaned and sent to separate homes, Grace holds onto what little she has, because losing it means being left with no one at all.
