Memoria

“In here, time stops.”

A loud bang wakes Jessica Holland (Tilda Swinton), a Scottish woman in Colombia, at daybreak, and nobody else seems to have heard it. The sound keeps returning, and she starts traveling through the country and into its jungle to find out where it comes from. Apichatpong Weerasethakul films her search in long, still takes and lets the quiet do the work.
