Memory Box

On Christmas Eve, a box arrives at the Montreal home of Maia (Rim Turki) and her teenage daughter, Alex (Paloma Vauthier). Inside are notebooks, tapes and photographs Maia sent from Beirut as a girl, between the ages of 13 and 18, to a friend who left for Paris to escape the civil war. Maia won't open it, so Alex does, and Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige let the girl's imagination move through the pages.
