Mending the Line

“For some, the path starts on the river.”

Colter (Sinqua Walls), a Marine wounded in Afghanistan, comes back to a VA hospital in Montana carrying injuries he can't explain to anyone, least of all himself. Ike Fletcher (Brian Cox), an older Vietnam veteran who fishes the nearby water, offers to teach him to cast a fly rod. Joshua Caldwell films the river and the long stretches of waiting at an unhurried pace, giving the two men room for what they don't say.
