Mental

“Every family is a little bit mental.”

Doris (Caroline Goodall) has cracked under her husband's political ambitions and his affairs, and the five teenage daughters left in the house are running on their own. Barry Moochmore (Anthony LaPaglia) hires a hitchhiker, Shaz (Toni Collette), as their nanny, and P.J. Hogan makes her arrival feel like a storm front. Shaz sees a family that has stopped talking, and she means to fix it her own way.
