Merantau

“Every journey must begin with one small step.”

Yuda (Iko Uwais), a young Silat Harimau fighter, leaves his farming village in West Sumatra to begin the Merantau, the old rite of passage that sends Minangkabau men off to make a name for themselves. His road ends in Jakarta, a crowded city where he meets Astri (Chika Jessica) and her younger brother Adit (Yusuf Aulia). Gareth Evans keeps Yuda at the center, and what grows between him and Astri starts to matter more than the name he came to earn.
